Interior Architect
The Role/ Location
Savills Ireland is seeking a technically strong, experienced, creative and commercially focused Interior Architect to join the Building and Project Consultancy team in Dublin. Architectural Technologists with an interior-focused background will also be considered for the role.
The successful candidate will lead interior design projects across commercial, workplace, retail, hospitality and mixed-use developments, from concept through to completion. They will provide design leadership, manage client relationships, oversee project delivery, and collaborate with multidisciplinary teams to ensure projects are delivered to the highest standards of design, functionality and commercial performance.
This role requires a strategic thinker with excellent design, technical and project management capabilities who can operate independently while contributing to the continued growth of the Workplace & Retail Design service offering. Strong on-site experience is essential, as is a solid understanding of Building Regulations, BCAR and the practical requirements of delivering projects through contractors. The successful candidate will combine creative design expertise with strong commercial awareness and a practical approach to project delivery.
Key Responsibilities
Lead multiple interior design projects from feasibility and concept development through to construction and project completion.
Act as the primary client contact, building and maintaining strong client relationships and trusted adviser status.
Lead client briefings, workshops, presentations and stakeholder engagement meetings to establish project requirements and objectives.
Develop innovative, commercially viable and client-focused design solutions.
Produce and oversee design concepts, mood boards, space plans, technical drawing packages and design specifications.
Manage project programmes, budgets, procurement activities and consultant coordination to ensure successful project delivery.
Coordinate effectively with internal teams including Project Management, Agency, Property Management and Building Consultancy.
Liaise with architects, contractors, engineers, suppliers and other external consultants throughout the project lifecycle.
Ensure compliance with Irish Building Regulations, Health & Safety requirements and industry best practice.
Undertake site inspections and oversee the implementation of design solutions during construction phases.
Manage FF&E specification, sourcing, procurement and installation activities.
Review and approve design documentation prepared by junior designers.
Provide mentorship, guidance and technical support to junior members of the team.
Contribute to business development activities including client pitches, fee proposals, tender submissions and presentations.
Support the continued growth and development of Savills' Interior Design offering.
Monitor market trends, workplace strategies, sustainability initiatives and emerging design innovations to inform project delivery.
Knowledge, Skills & Experience
Qualifications & Experience
Minimum 10 years' professional interior design experience.
Degree in Interior Design, Interior Architecture, Architectural Technology or a related discipline.
Significant experience within commercial workplace, retail, hospitality and/or mixed-use sectors.
Proven experience leading projects from concept through to completion.
Demonstrated experience leading multidisciplinary project teams.
Technical & Project Management Skills
Excellent design development, space planning and technical detailing skills.
Strong understanding of Irish Building Regulations, accessibility requirements and industry standards.
Experience managing project budgets, procurement activities and programme delivery.
Proficiency in AutoCAD, SketchUp, Adobe Creative Suite, Enscape, Microsoft Office and project management software.
Strong organisational skills with the ability to manage multiple projects and competing priorities.
Strong problem-solving skills and attention to detail.
Strong on-site experience and a practical understanding of project delivery through contractors.
Commercial & Client Management
Strong client-facing experience with the ability to build and manage long-term client relationships.
Commercial awareness with a strong understanding of project profitability and client expectations.
Excellent presentation, communication and stakeholder management skills.
Experience supporting business development activities, including proposal preparation and client presentations.
Ability to identify opportunities for new business and cross-selling across service lines.
